Hey guys, does the motor have to come out when replacing the oil pump and shaft? I snapped myn in half, and was just curious if I could raise the motor high enough or if shes got to come clean out. Anything need to be disconnected to do so? Thanks for the help, eager to get her running again lol.

I would think you would have to pull the engine (easy way i can think of), it would be hard to remove the front suspension including k-member to remove the oil pan.

I've heard that you can get it up high enough without pulling it, but if you are going to disconnect everything to lift it, I'd just pull it out completely. Just my two cents. Good luck.

It can be done with the motor in, but you do have to unbolt it and jack the engine high enough to get the pan off.

I have done it both ways, and I recommend that you just pull the engine.

The effort to get the pan rails clean and the gaskets back together properly with engine in the car is not worth it.
