Does this mean I have a "chip?" Found this while looking under the hood.

See how the updated design has metal at the front and is not all plastic?

what do you guys mean by not completelly painted?!?!?!

The engine bay, from fender to fender and lights to firewall, looks like red primer. If I glaze it over with a nice coat of Jax Wax when I detail the engine it doesn't look as bad, but it's still crappy outta Ford.

Why couldn't Ford finish painting the engine bay?

Wanna hear some *****? I have the 04 Crimson red, and the engine bay paint is not even the same red that the car is. I know it's not clear, but even cleared it wouldn't be the same red. Talk about half ass. They probably started to paint my car and realized this was the special red for one year and they didn't change the engine bay

O.K, so I called for the last time today. Got the same lady, Mrs. Rude Son-of-a-&^%$#, asked her to speak with a person who currently has a pulse, can read at a 10th grade level, and is employed by their dealership. Made it very clear that if I get a voicemail one more time, she would be flooded with many many many calls.

She obviously sent me to the "tool department" because that is who picked up the line, a tool. He claims they put this sticker on all of their vehicles so that the consumer is aware that the new vehicles have a warranty. This Ford dealership is truly a fine example that the gene pool needs some chlorine....

It is put there so you will see "HIGH TECH COMPUTER" and go OMFG i can't fix this. i better get my some lube and easy access pants and go back to them to get it fixed.

so NO you do not have a chip.

BTW this must be the most highjacked thread of all time.

svttech76, I should have listened, I agree. But, I had to get my way with the dealer. They must have the worst customer service of any dealership on this planet..

Hijacked, definitly....

yeah that dealer sucks. i already called and left a message for the service manager saying i was bill ford. i left a random ford phone number as my number. then i asked if a bunch of empty car haulers have showed up yet. any sane person would have hung up on me.

( when a dealer is closed by ford they send car haulers to pick up the inventory. if you work at a dealer and see lots of empty car haulers unlock your toolbox wheels and go get another job)

I went in looking at the 2005's and asked the chick who was trying to sell it to me if I could order one with the engine bay fully painted, she said NO. I said I am going to be paying like $30,000 for a new car, and it is incomplete? She acted like I p'd in her cool-aid, she wasn't too nice after that.

I dunno why, my 1993 SHO is the same way. It is like they put the hood on and gave it a couple swipes, and the overspray that flew into the bay was what painted the bay.
