does this sound like overheating?

it happens after ive been driving around for a while, my car will start to stall, it wont hold an idle, and when i rev it it like hessitates and does not want to rev. my stock temp gauge is not accurate because the kid who had the car before me put in some stupid white face gauges an messed up the needles. im gonna get some autometers soon though so i can really see if it is overheating

codes? overheating would not be my first guess. could be something as simple as the IAC being dirty. but it does sound like a management issue, not overheating. you fan comes on and all that, right? is it worse with a/c on?

this might sound simple, but you can check the air filter. just a very non-time consuming and inexpensive advice.

if you mess with the air filter, clean the MAF wire too. that could do it.

So when you first start the car, it runs fine? But then after the car warms up, it starts acting up?

Sounds like bad O2's to me.

Do the free stuff first. Clean MAF/IAT, check plugs, check FP, etc.

have a k&N drop in filter which is fine, i cleaned the maf not to long ago (didnt mess anything up either, i was very careful) i have a new fuel filter. the only thing it could be is the IAC i guess but someone told me that wouldnt give me idle surge so i dont know. my car also starts pretty ****ty too, the first start of the day is fine then it slowly gets worse everytime i start it from then on, it wil lget to the point where it barley wants to start and will just crank without starting, then ill stop an try again an it will just barley start an the rpms will jump up then fall. then after that it will just start crappy again like before but it wont do the crank an not start thing. its strange, its not my battery also, i have a new optima red top.

If your car was overheating your car would be puking out the coolant in the overflow.
