The Magnuson-Moss act is pretty cool, but it wont win over a dealership. If you want to take it beyond that its definatly not gonna win against FoMoCo.

They will always come up with some BS as how to aftermarket part x has affected broken part x even if its totally unrelated.

You either get lucky and find a mod freindly dealer, or your pretty much out of luck.

remove the xpipe and slap on the stock one. less than an hour of your time.

I thought according to magnusons law or something, they have to prove that the part caused the defect.

Sorry for the confusion, I was in a rush. Last night I tried to install a white faced overlay over my stock 2004 GT OEM gauges. The instructions said to take the needles off. After the white face and needle installation I found out that all the needles were way off. I was going to put it all back together say nothing and bring it to the dealer under warranty or if I could pay to get them re-calibrated. I needed to know if warranty was good with an O/R mid pipe.

oh ok yeah slap the stockers on and give it a try like killy said worst is "no" but i doubt they'll relate that to an o/r X-pipe causing it unless they say "oh that exessive noise from your aftermarket pipe threw the needles off"

All Ford Dealerships are different.
Mine told me if I had a warranty and I wanted to mod
my car the only mods I could do without voiding any parts of the warrarty were a cai or catback exhaust
and that is it.

It's getting harder now to help people out, on a lot major stuff like trans work and definitely on engine failures a inspector comes out. There is no way we can help out when the inspector comes.
