Does your TKO make a lot of noise?

Everything from the tranny back in my car is fairly new, but the tranny is loud as he!! sometimes. If i have the car up on stands idling in 5th gear it sounds like the trans is full of rocks, kind of sounds like the u-joints are gone but they are new. Also while coming home from the track after beating on the car a bit this weekend it was making the clunking noise it always does but would also howl some and was transferring more noise up thru the shifter than usual. This morning cold it didn't sound so loud. I don't know , mabye that's just how they are. Let me know how yours sounds, help a man out. Thanks.

not sure about the TKO, but my 3550 whines a lot, especially between shifts when the synchros are workin. I have no clunking though...

About 5k miles on it now (although it's about 2 1/2 years old), and it's got synchromesh in it.

It has bigger gears than the t-5 so its gonna whine more. All of the bigger trannys whine more.
