how hard would it be to stuff a navigator motor into a 95 mustang?
will a t5 bolt up to the modular block?

i found a 1995 gt that has a barely running 5.0 in it and i was wondering other than navigator motor and ecu what else i would need ( i'm planning on getting a new intake and cams for the motor so it can spin up a little higher ) and i'm pretty sure i'd need a new k member but its there anything else ?

i don't think a T5 will bolt up, well atleast the you will need a different bell housing. the computer, different hood, k-member, engine mounts. if your honestly thinking of doing this type of engine swap, i would find a 96 and newer mustang, make life a lot easier. the T45 would bolt, the computer is good, the k-member maybe. If you stick with the car, rebuild the engine for that much money you'd be putting in the swap. if you have your heart set on a bigger engine either stroke the 302 to a 347 or swap in a 351. in my opinion, its just not worth switching to a mod motor on a pre-95 model.

The T5 bolts up to a 4.6 DOHC car, so it should bolt up to the 5.4, even thought it's a different motor. I believe Al Papitto's 5.4 Cobra has a T5 in it, but I couldn't swear by it. I'm assuming that you would need the T5 with the input shaft of a 4.6 SOHC 96-98 car, and the bellhousing for that too. That would be my guess anyway. I would call any place that specializes in transmissions, specifically T5's, to see how to do it.

If you want to know about the swap. Look up a thread with the user name boss330 I believe. Its like a 30 page thread with everything thing you need to know about the 5.4 and swapping it into a mustang.

The 96+ have a T-45 in the SOHC, I'm not sure if it will bolt up or not. Also not sure how much your getting for a 5.4 but www.stangparts.com has a 96-98 Cobra DOHC for $3500 complete (intake to pan plus wiring harness and ECU) which will make more HP then a Navigator motor. How much do you think a 5.4 swap will cost?

Good points, but the Navi motor makes 300hp stock, with arguably more potential.
