I am building a DOHC5.4, what heads to get?? and intake options.

What options do I have for heads, I want tumble port not split.

I was looking into having adapter plates made for a cobra intake and putting some navi heads on. I thought that I would let this one sit out here for a while though, need some knowledge first.

bottom end is steel crank, manley H-beams, cp 17cc pistons.

BTW, this is being built for turbo app

Well, the way I see it, you have four options:

99,01 Cobra head: Optimized for a n/a 4.6L application, it features well matched intake and exhaust ports.

Navigator head: Similar to the 99,01 cobra, the intake port is visably larger to feed the additional cubes of the 5.4L.

03 Cobra/Mach 1/Aviator/Marauder head: Again, similar to the 99,01 cobra. The exhaust port is much larger when compared to the two heads above.

FR500: I don't have a freaking clue. For the price though, it doesn't seem worth it.

If you were going to stay n/a, the navigator heads would be the easy answer, but since you're using a turbo I'd say the 03 cobra heads are worth a look. I should mention that Modular Performance has a 5.4L intake for the navigator heads, but no easy solution is available for any of the other choices.

cool, What intakes fit what heads?? I dont want a hood any taller than a cobra R 2" hmm.... try to keep cost within reason as I dont want to spend too much to finish the motor up and run N/A for a while.
