I've searched and all the like and I haven't found the answers for some of my dumb questions. I just got a set of GT40Ps with roughly 70K on them... also a set of TFS dual springs, retainers, shims and keepers... I'll be getting some stem seals from CSK tomorrow. My first question is: The shims... I read that the installed height of the springs should be 1.800"... how do the shims fit into this? They are .060" a piece. I'm just a little confused as I've never dealt with them before. Do I just keep adding shims till I hit that 1.800"?? Number two! Dampers... what do they do and where do they go? I mean in relation to the springs, retainers and all that blah. Do I need to run them? Probably noob questions, but I gotta know
Besides those, please feel free to add any tips/info! I want this install to go smoothly.
