Well I have had the car for 3 months and I have gotten just to it so I wanna to make a bit faster so I decided to do my cams .
Yesterday after I drop the car off in the mourning I got a call from my shop and it was bad news :notnice: my mechanic advised that Ford had made a big mistake in one of my heads(driver side) when he took the stock cam he notice that ford had only done 7 holes for the oil feed for the cam bearings instead of 8 and that the old cam was all scratch up since one of the bearing was always dry.
I called Ford and they told me since I have a few goodies (headers, intake injectors)that I will have to take all them off(like taking the long tubes is that easy in a modular) and bring the car in so that a Ford mechanic could take a look at this, to make thing short I had to order new heads from Patriot Performance.

Has any like this has ever happend to one of you guys ??my car was bone stock when I purchased so I know no one play around with it before.I checked for recalls and nope ,If I never would had change my cams I would have not found out till it would had damge a valve or something worse.Well the only good thing about all this is that I get to replace the stock heads with Stage 2 heads.
if anyone else has done Patriot headS let me know how you like the work and service??

thanks

That could explain the ticking noise people have been complaining about. There is a service bulliten out for this.
TSB 31604 if dealership does not give you any satifaction call Pat Hoye at
Ford World HQ 313-248-8336.They ended up replacing my engine.

I have the Patriot heads and the workmanship was excellent - several people commented on the job they did on the combustion chamber. With the VT cams, the car pulls like crazy - it's a shame I only feel comfortable reving it to 6K on the stock bottom end - it feels like it's still building power. I'll know after the dyno tomorrow if that's the case.

I think you'll be happy - they ship and answer questions quick, too.

**One more thing that could save you some $$$: What year is your car? If it's a '99 or '00, it probably has the windsor motor, which takes a different valve cover - if that's the case, call or e-mail Terry @ Patriot and let him know - he should be able to get you the right heads and save you $250-300 for new covers**.

Also, depending on mileage you may want to invest in new lifters. You're getting into a whole other project doing heads. If the car has some miles on it you may be looking at chain tensioners and arms, etc. I had the front crank seal, crank gear, arms and tensioners replaced when I did mine because they were all noticeably worn.

This is why im not touching my motor for a long time... i know how ****ty motor problems can be and how dealers can deny replacement because of mods.

Did you hear antying unusual in the motor? how many miles on the car?
Good luck man. hope everything works out

I never noticed anything or even heard anything,my car has 51000 miles and it's a 99gt.I spoke to Ford again and it's lost case they told me to put my car together and they will fix it but putting it together will cost me $$$$$$$$.
The problem was in the driver side head in the front,by taking your valve cover off you will see if you have the same problem since you will see that the front will be a little brown since it would have always been dry,

Hey GT2000JAY- have you run your car at the track or have dyno it I have almost the same modifications you have done the only difference is I am going to be shooting a 125 nitrous shot,I am very curious to know how much horsepower I will be making on the engine alone or what my times will be around on motor.
