Doing H/C/I and more in one week, make sure I have everything needed.

Hey guys. I posted a thread like this a while back, and everyone gave me good responses, but now my project has expanded greatly. I am goind to be installing an E303 camshaft, an Explorer intake, and GT40P heads, along with some other goodies. What I want you guys to do is look at my list of parts, and see if anything's missing that I should have (to do the job, not additional performance mods). I'd like to avoid as many surprises as possible once the car is opened up. Please don't dog my choice of cam or other parts, I just want to make sure I have the essentials. Here's the list:

On hand:
MAF conversion (done and working great)
Explorer upper and lower intake
GT40P heads w. cobra springs and valves (1.54" exhaust valves )
GT40P FRPP headers
FRPP double roller timing chain
ARP head bolts
FRPP 1.72 roller rockers
FRPP tall valve covers
1" phenolic spacer
Walbro 255 lph fuel pump
Hardened FRPP pushrods
Full felpro performance gasket set for Ford 302
Jet 180* tstat
All stock intake bolts and new upper intake bolts for spacer
GT40 upper intake gaskets
oil cap
breather with nipple for connection to TB
E303 camshaft
Injector install kit
Thread sealer, parts cleaner, and silicone
Motor oil and filter x2
Spark plugs
Fuel filter
camshaft lube
Adj. fuel pressure regulator

So, if you see anything missing that I am gonna need when I go to do the job with my mechanic, please post it asap! Thanks a million guys!

Part list looks good, im looking to see how your car ends up, im am currently doing the same as you, my combo will be cleaned up p heads with a 3 angle vavle job, performer intake, crane 2030 cam, 3.73's, underdrives, p headers, prochamber, flows. i finished my first head today and will have the second finished tomorrow then they go out for the valve job, keep me posted on any track times or dyno numbers, as will i if you would like to know. i plan to hit the dyno as soon as the car is finished.

maybe some gasket remover, however I really didn't even use mine on my Stang. High Tak (sp?) gasket sealer, you might consider some stage 8 locking header bolts, you'll need the a/c (& fuel line) disconnect kit to remove fuel lines from tank and fuel rails.

Just a piece of advice, if you haven't pulled all of the stuff off yet, if you have a digital camera, it might not hurt to take a few pictures along the way. I know I took pictures of mine. I really didn't have to reference them very much, but better safe than sorry.

I'm not doing this alone, I'm doing it with my mechanic who's odne plenty of stang motors. He has all the tools to do the job. As fas as stage 8 header bolts, I did want some, but money's tight and I was told they were'nt a necessity.

Well, the water pump/front cover has to come off - your gasket set should take care of that, but unless the water pump was just replaced, I'd put a new one on while you're there. Also, all the hoses that have to be disconnected - again, unless they've been replaced in the past year or two - I'd put new hoses and clamps on. Same with the serpentine.

I'd strongly suggest degreeing the cam so you know where it's installed - if you've got an indexed timing set and you have to move it around to get it close to the cam card (for the E cam .050" should occur at TDC for the intake) then err on the side of advancing it a degree or two. Some folks install the E and B 4 degrees advanced as a matter of standard procedure. After it's installed, check p to v clearance - you should be fine, but unless you check, you're taking a risk when you fire that puppy up. I'm not sure what Cobra springs are, but are they ok pressure-wise and bind-wise with the .535" peak lift you're gonna have? Also, on fire up, you're gonna want to try and get it to idle at something higher than stock - most folks find to get enough vacuum with the E, they want it up around 900 at least. Good luck with it!

new hoses soon after job is done.

the cobra FRPP springs are setup for .550" lift
I don't know much about cam installation, I'm leaving that to my mechanic, but like I said, he's done this plenty of times, so I'm sure he knows what to do with it.

Well, I went shopping today, I think I have everything. The list is above, edited in my first post. Two days till the project starts. Too bad my clutch is about to die. That's next....
