OK, so I've owned imports previously... a 2003 Jetta 1.8T mostly stock and currently a 400whp 2006 Mitsubishi Evo.
I'm keeping the Evo, as it absolutely rocks as an all around daily driver as well as track car... but muscle fever seems to be kicking in.
I've got 2 friends with LS1 Z28 Camaros that just rip... they run 12.1 quarter miles with basic bolt ons... absolutely nuts. My Evo is already capable of 11.x, but it's not muscle, lol.
I'm looking to give them a run for their money on the domestic side with a Kenne Bell blown 4.6L.
I've been searching StangNet and trying to do my research as far as what's needed/recommended. So far, this is all I really have written down:
Nitto NT-01 255/40/R17 DOT Competition Radial Tires
Spec Stage 2 Street Clutch Kit
Bassani X-Pipe & Cat-Back Exhaust
Denso T20EPR-U One Step Colder Spark Plugs
Kenne Bell 2.1L Twin Screw Intercooler Supercharger Kit @ 11psi
Kenne Bell BOOST-A-SPARK
Kenne Bell Cool Air Kit, 90mm MAF
So I have a few questions...
1) Those NT-01's should fit stock rims, right? Any feedback on these at the street/strip?
2) Spec Stage 2 lists torque cap. of 530 lb-ft at the flywheel. Any feedback on this clutch?
3) Does anyone run the 2.1L KB @ 11psi on pump gas? I only use Shell 93 on my Evo and I am able to run 26-27psi whereas other pump gas I can only run 23-24... I think the Shell 93 is a very strong and reliable pump gas so I'm hoping to run 11psi.
4) What else am I gonna need in terms of safety/reliability/supporting mods?
My ultimate goal for this would be ~550bp, 400whp on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno and somewhere in the 11's for quarter mile. Any feedback, suggestions, comments, are welcome. Thanks in advance!
