i was just reading a thread about SRT4 neon vs our Mustangs, basically what this means that the debate has shifted from imports (4 cyl, 6cyl) vs domestic (V8's), now its becomng domestic 4cyl. vs domestic V8's!

guys this debate will never end, my kids one day will be having this debate when they become teenagers! i had a 92' honda hatchback Si 10 yrs. ago w/ a 50 shot
and i was keeping up w/ 5.0's and sometimes i will beat them and they were shocked, keeping up w/ a V8 back then was a win for me because V8's were the king of the road especially the 5.0's. I know what these 4 bangers can do and believe me i dont take them lightly and you guys shouldn't either.

V8's have been the roots of drag racing for a very long time! but the technology has changed, its not carbs no more its fuel injection and computer tuning!

pick up a mustang magazine and pick up a import magazine which is thicker! the manufacturer's know where the money is.. its in these tuner cars! edlebrock, moroso, NOS, etc..cater to the tuner market because that's where the money is, you never think NHRA would have a pro import circuit in a million years! dodge, chevy, saturn, ford has a ricer, the tuner market is a billion dollar a year industry, they are not going anywhere anytime soon!

we can call these cars whatever we want the main thing is racing is racing and who reaches the finish line first WINS! race with what u got and don't hate if you get beat by one, throw the peace sign up once they past you up!

now these kids w/ these tuner cars which they got for graduation and put a couple of stickers and a big muffler tip and they think they are fast, those are the ones that ruin the sport of racing and need to be spanked by us veterans.

just my honest opinion and i'm sure you guys have your own, have a good weekend!!!

I agree with you mostly.

Some fantastic cars have come out of Japan for sure though.

The mitsu evo, subuaru wrx, mazda rx7 (3rd gen is one of my all time favorite cars), nissan skyline and most of the z cars. Those are all RWD or AWD. A first gen s2000 sounds epic screaming to redline at 9k rpm...

For all out straight line speed you gotta go american iron

My take on this. I have an import..Very heavly modified Honda and its boosted and I tell you what yes it is quick. But from my past experiences with owning several Stangs.. NOTHING DRIVES or Feels like A mustang.
