I have been waiting to be able to say this

Yes, hooked up the 4.10s today (among other mods) – very nice. Very nice.

2nd at 3100 RPM pulls like first did at that same range. This isn’t a supercharger, but for under $500 installed, you can’t beat the acceleration. I cannot believe I read so many people saying they went with 3.73s to remain more practical. Based on this I thought the 4.10s would be stupid. If you like your 3.73s, good for you, but for those of you who are undecided, the 4.10s are by no means impractical or unconventional. This is what I thought the ‘Stang should pull like when I bought it.

Congrats on the gears, glad you like them :)

My question is, how is the highway driving? I do quite a bit of highway driving and i dont want to strain the motor....

:nice: :nice: :nice: glad you picked that gear. Great first mod for anyone. I have taken my car to Louisville KY twice already. And still got the same gas mileage as before my gears, with the air on all the way.

I do not regret getting 4:10s :nice: :nice: :nice:

can you tell me what RPM you get at 70MPH?

I just want to know... if it's anything over 2450RPM I am not going to get 4.10s :p

I just got my 4.10 monday and I'm still breaking it in right now but at 70 mph I tach at 2300 and at 75 mph i tach at 2500. Tarch just get 4.10 if your not going S/C..

Thats funny. I have an automatic 2001 that turns 2600 rpm at 75 mph. The 5 speeds must have a steeper overdrive. Mine is .7 to 1. First gear is totally useless. So it slowed my car down. But if I put on some slicks that would be a different story.

I think 4.10's with a 5.0 might be a little much, depending on your preference. It has alot more torque than the 4.6's do so that might put you at like 3.73's maybe. like I said though, your preference.

BTW: just ordered my speedcal and 4.10's are going in in 10 days!

I wanted 4.10s for most acceleration with out doing major work, even though i am using p and p heads, e cam, pulleys and exhaust

Well, I dont really know a whole lot about 5.0's. This is the first ford I've ever owned, but My friend has a 90 LX that he stroked. Other than that, I have no other experiences with 5.0's. They also redline a little lower right? Heh! you know your car better than me, if you want 4.10's, who am I to advise otherwise.
