I'm not sure if anyone has had a problem with these or not, but I got the Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs for christmas and put them on. In March one backed out of my head and stripped it. I ended up just replacing the head because I didn't want a helicoil in it. Ford looked at the spark plugs and they do not match up with Ford's Aluminum heads well, the threads are different and there aren't many threads in ford's heads anyways. They said that's the reason for them backing out, fortunately only one blew out but they said others were lose.
Just wanted to give you all the heads up on what Ford told me and hopefully you don't make the same mistake.

This post is wrong on so many levels:

1) Bosch +4 is teh suck

2) Even Motorcraft plugs are know to back out

3) The dealer blamed the plugs because he knew you had a good argument for free head swap

4) You should investigate this further and attempt to get reimbursed for the head swap...

I disagree. They made a very noticeable difference in my Pontiac Sunfire GT 5spd. I had them in my Truck as well. They seem to make a bigger difference in the H.O. 4 cyl I had but in my truck they took away a torque down low but did add mid-high rpm range and gave better throttle response. When I took them out at 20K miles (thought I was trading it in), they still looked great, so I put them in my cabinet to add back in later.

I have them in my car, and after about 15k I've developed a slight miss at idle. My friend swears its the plugs but I don't know. In the next couple weeks I plan on swaping them for Ford plugs, so I guess I'll see if they were the cause of the miss or not.

I got Autolite Double Platinum plugs, I hear that they work great on Mustangs

I changed plugs on my old 98GT once, and went somewhere (i dont remember) and asked for Autolight Double Plat plugs and the tech laughed at me, and goes "autolight?!" I was like ooooook nevermind :rlaugh: I *DID* end up getting doubl plat plugs, but i dont remember what kind i had in there...FRPP maybe?

I heard that doubl plat works best for 99+ cars, and if you have a Non-PI 96-98GT you want copper plugs, as they conduct and work better on those cars. Dont ask me why, thats just what i heard from a Ford Tech who is into racin down at the tracks.

off subject and naive, but why does "teh" appear instead of the article "the"?

Go ahead, start snickering at a n00b question
I have a rare form of keyboard palsy that causes me to type bad on teh keyboard... Are you making fun of my disability sir?
