Well i have been trying to work out this problem of my car not wanting to revv past 5,500rpm. I have no idea what could be causeing this. It just breaks up when i get to that RPM, it will revv past it but really slowly. I thought it was pinging or something or valve float. So i Replaced all the valve springs with new stock ones(budget), and some FMS 1.7RRs. Still did it. So i thought it was pinging so i backed the timing off from 14 to 12. Still does it. I new plugs and wires. Still does it. I took out my MSD Blaster TFI coil and put my stock one back on. Still does it. I have tried all different kinds of fuel pressures. Still does it. I have gone to the track and can only muster 13.8 @99. When before the new CAI, MAF, and 1.7s i went 13.6 @ 101.80. I have no ideas left. Can anyone help me??

I'm not seeing any heads in your sig My car would go slowly from 5k and up but when I got new heads put on that flow A LOT better than stock, shoots right up to 6k easily and wants to keep on going!

Well not slow its like it hits a wall like even without heads the RPMs used to fly pretty good then it just hits a wall and the revving breaks up and goes erratically, almost like a revv limiter or something.

With stock heads, cam, TB and MAF my car shoots up to 6k fast in first. Not so fast in second and third, but better than what WhiteDevil's talking about, somethings wrong especially to loose two mph in the 1/4.

Have you looked at the fuel filter?

I guess ill try the fuel filter next. So are there any messed up sensors that could cause this? The car drives great this is only a WOT problem. I think im gonna do a compression test on it, but i dont think that would cause what im talking about. Im pretty sure that 2mph that i have lost is because i have to shift at 5K or so now to keep it out of the trouble RPM area. Thanks for all the help guys, anything else, please!!

Crushed lifter? Although I think that would be noticeable before 5k rpms.

Lifters are good. I would probably hear the ticking pretty loud. It used to limit me at 6,250.

Was it all of the sudden? High mileage E7's might start floating the valves at around 5500. That would definitely cause a reduction in power .
