i was called into work yesterday (which was my day off) everything went well. except for comeing home after turning off of the I-95 off-ramp (which is a straight away) i floored it in 1st didnt shift into second until i saw the shiift light which is set at 5grand next thing i remeber was climbing outa my car half buried in a deep ditch. JUST!!!! missing a car(which would have been a head on) and fish taling into the other lane and into the ditch luckly no one was hurt includeing my self my car sits on the bottom of the drive way with two flat tires a destroyed driver's side quarter panel busted fog light and god knows what else i havnt had time yet to look under it.I like most of my fellow stangers was a speed freak that is why i bought the car to begin with it is sad that it took a near death experiance to teach me that SPEED KILLS!!!!! and we never really have controll of our cars if we are going to fast to begin with i hope by writeing this i can convience some of you to keep the speed on the track and not the road.I got off lucky being helped by a local sheriff of my county i didnt recieve a ticket or anything but he did tell me all three of the state troopers that stopped to talk to him as he was derecting traffic told im to give me a wrecklace driveing ticket but he let me off but the damage was already done with a 250 dollar toweing charge.so just remeber my story when you meet that honda or z28 what could happen.

Glad to know that you're ok!

And yes, speed kill, that's why i don't speed in 'normal' streets. I was with some of my friend yesterday and he was going at 160km\h in 50km\h zone in ****ing snow man, i was like, slow the **** down.

Hope you learned

Man that sucks to hear that about your stang. What happened anyways? Did something break causing the car to go that out of control? How long have you had the stang?

man the other day i almost got it 2 times in one day by other people wrecking on the hiway around me. It was like i was in that Final Destination movie or something and my time was up! First time, this guy came through the median and barely missed me, second time some dumbass in an Expedition came flying around me in the snow and lost control and slid into a car right in front of me, both cars were doing 360s about 1 1/2 car lengths in front of me...the first one was comming home from work (3rd shift) and the second was going back to work that same night....

A coupla' weeks ago my wife and I went out Christmas shopping together. It was raining. During the ride I asked her if she wanted something to eat. She said "No thanks". Since I was hungry we pulled into a burger joint and I asked her to drive so I could eat. She gave me a look that coulda melted steel but agreed to drive. We pulled out of the parking lot and as she was making a left onto the highway (2 lines of cars turning left) I heard the Rs start to climb. Before I could say "Easy there" the right rear was coming around. She overcorrected and the left rear came around. As we turned completely backwards (in traffic) all I could see were cars going by. When we got turned completely backwards she locked up the brakes. We then started sliding towards the full metal guard rail on the side of the road. I muttered to myself, probably out loud, "This is gonna hurt". The car stopped sliding about 2 feet away from the guard rail. My wife promptly got out of the car and said she would rather walk 50 miles then ever drive it 1 mile again. She is still ticked off.

Stupid fool, stupid.

Ever wonder where all the '68-69 camaro's got to or the first gen stangs? Testosterone and inexperience equals one less stang out there.

Thanks

It happens... you live and learn. Luckily i learned a few rain/snow lessons in a far less powerful car, still RWD though so it's the same concept.

Excellent point, I hope someday my notch will actually appreciate and with stories like this (not trying to be an a$$) it looks promising.
Glad you were relatively unhurt...

I've had two very...VERY close calls.
One was on a cold rainy night. It had just started to rain and It was late. I was coming down this hill here in my home town and I was going below the speedlimit because I know there are usually police nearby. I was just about to go through the light and I down-shifted to make ready for my turn when it turned yellow. I tapped the brakes and that was it. (strong disk rear) Back end wipped around faster than I could think. I spun through the red light and into the opposite lane. There was a Tanker pulling into the citgo station that was stopped and I was headed right for it. I did a 50/50 cluth-brake slide and got the car back before I met my firey death with the tanker. I pulled over just to catch my breath and a police officer pulled up behind me. He saw the whole thing. before he said anything to me I said officer, I was not speeding. He knew becasue he had me on radar doing 37 in a 45 coming down the hill. He wanted to just check on me and make sure something wasn't wrong. He was really cool. Thats my scariest so far...
Oh...there was a suburban on the Merrit that the throttle stuck. The guy paniced and tried to put it in park but got it locked in R. He was flying twords traffic backwards before he jumped onto the center divider. I was on my way to work. I saw the reverse lights and was like, WTF? OH #&(%!!! That was crazy too...
