I just test fitted 275/40's on Cobra R wheels on the back of my car and I can barely get my thumb between the tire and exhaust pipe. Will this cause some problems?? Dont think Im gonna run 315's. I know I can do stuff to make 'em fit but I'm not to the point where I need that much tire.

I have 285/35's on 2000 Cobra R's. The flowmaster exhaust pipe must be different, because my MAC doesn't bend to being straight for the exhaust until past the end of the tire, I have a good 3" to play with.

How do the 315's fit on the rim? Does it look like they're gonna pop off or no?

they fit just fine.

the offset/backspacing of the rim compensates for the additional width.

I have 10.5" wide Cobra R replicas. And the 315's would fit the rim no prob, but wont fit on my car with the current exhaust. But Im happy with the 275/45's...

If you really want the 315's go to your local muffler shop and have them splice in to your tail pipes with custom bent pipes so you can have room.

That is what I would do. I am dying to get more tire, I have some skimpy 225's on the car right now, hooking will never happen.

you need a wheel with 25mm of back spacing and the 315 with fit. 17 x 10.5 or 11 inch wheel. flip your quad shocks end for end or remove completely.

I've found some cobra R's that have a 27mm offset with 6.84" Backspacing. Those should work shouldn't they for most setups?

Mu buddies n I used to use baseball bats to roll up fender lip. Or on the 4x4's just bust out the sawz-all!! Besides the 275's are fine for my needs. I'm thinking a 315 tire may be too much for auto-x n road race track stuff.
