Don't you just love when this happens?!?

Actually, I didn't even zoom in ;)

The hole was large enough to put the camera near it to view the inside :rlaugh:

It cracked the reflector inside so the light is off pretty badly :)

It definitly owned me :rlaugh: When I heard it hit, I had no clue what it was but did know it hit the car. A few minutes after, I was thinking to myself that I was glad that it didn't hit the windshield since I have no chips/cracks in the factory windshield which seems pretty rare for a 8+ year old car in this area.

When I made it home I just happened to glance at the front of the car and noticed it. Then I glanced inside and saw the rock

all the chips in my paint and cracks in my windshield are due to houston traffic:notnice:

i only lived there for a year and a half:(

It's not all that bad really, I've been wanting to buy new lights for quite some time since those were so damn hazed that the light didn't shine well. This just gives me a reason to upgrade finally instead of always just thinking about it.

As for Houston traffic resulting in things like this, it's even worse for me. I live a bit from Houston (outside of Baytown) so I end up driving 40 miles one way just to get my lights busted :D

I got my replacements from Blue Oval but I'm not sure if they still sell them. They've been great for the two years I've owned them.

I'm still glad that the rock didn't come in contact with the windshield. I'm not quite sure how the rock had so much speed behind it to shatter the light and reflector like that, but it must have been going pretty quick :D

I'm pretty sure that it would have done some pretty bad damage to glass :)

pwnz0rd!

Sorry, I had to :D That sucks man, but like you said, time to upgrade! Anyway, I'm sure those lamps didnt throw much light being that fogged up... I think I'm the only one whose stock headlamps didnt cloud, but they did break due to the previous owner slamming the hood (never greased the latch).

Oh and you think that rock is bad, there is a video floating around on the web where a Z28 nails a bird at like 100mph... needless to say it shot right through the light lmao :owned:

My father a few years back ended up with a buzzard half way in his truck. It was pretty nasty to look at. To this day, he'll still kinda jump when a bird flies in front of him when he's driving.

I've got one hazed over light and one replaced (due to a small collision the previous owner had, just enough to mess up the bumper and right light) so my 97 GT looks a little silly now with one new and one old light. I haven't been able to decide whether to replace them both with something new or just get a new lens cover for the old one and call it good enough.
