Hissin, I went out and removed the actuator today. I think I found the easiest way, a hammer Theres enough room inside the door to get a hammer in their and bang the actuator down. Then once it comes out, just pull out the actuator rod from the mechanism and its all free at last!! I sprayed it all down with WD-40 and tried it with the key a few times and i'm good to go.

Saved 2lbs in the process

Glad to hear it came out Mike. I could not try something like that since I have plastic mounting brackets for my actuators (vert).

Nice work.

WOW! i broke mine with two fingers while installing an actuator. Plastic in the desert gets very brittle though. You had the guts to take a hammer to pound out a tight fitting actuator in a plastic mount.....

Haha. I wanted that fugger outta there! They were frozen and only 1 side was able to was actually turn the key to open the door. The drivers side was frozen so the key didn't work.

I guess the heat gets to the plastic. It was pretty hot here today, probably in the 80's
