Ok working on my 66 the doors have locking issues. The pass door you have to lock from the inside and the drivers door never locks. I bought a latch on ebay a while back and was trying to put it in but its a little different then the old one. It has the other part there ya see in the pic do I need that? Also can i get the little plastic thing at a parts place that holds the rods on its missing the one for the lock pin

Thanks guys

Most of the parts houses sell the bushing that you're looking for. I replaced both of my latches and found them.
That was a couple years ago!

My locks also have to be done from inside the car with the door shut, if you try and lock it and shut the door, it runs the risk of breaking the lock for me..i dony know y this is, but it is how it has been since i got the car so i am used to it. So I am sad to say I can not be as much help for this part.

As for the clip: here ya go

I thought you would post that tim. That thread helped me a ton. I had the exact same problem you had. These are the plastic things you need View attachment 470241. Not the ones previously linked to.

Heres the link to the ones you need http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/ite...sp?T1=F1306+01.

Anyway I got a couple pics of the latch fix and rod configuration.

Here is the lock motor I modified to fit from a 82 Thunderbird. I used an existing hole in the lock lever.

I started to put the door and hinges back on, but it looks like the only way to get it aligned right is to take the fender off.

Ok in that pic you have the lock bar going all the way down mine was attached at that black plastic thing with the washers. Were is it actually suppose to go?

Yes, all the rods are in place in that picture.

When you get your bushing kit, this picture helps explain where everything goes:
