door lock actuators and switches/brake rotors pads

im about to order some stuff. my pass. side door lock actuator is gets stuck and so my door is eithger stuck locked or unlocked. my switches only work half the time i try to lock or unlock my driver side. so i was gonna order the actuator repair kit, which is some door pannel pins and 2 actuators, becasue its like 60 bucks for all of that vs. 40 for just one actuator. i need new switches too, so i was gonna get 2 of those, unlock and lock for both sides, the thing that mounts to the door. and then i was going to get the door hinge repair kit, which is those 2 dowl looking thngs, bushings, and the rotator piece. because my driver side door sags and water gets in. then weatherstripping becasue the door sagging has messed mine up, and i was thinking about getting new rotors, stock replacements and new pads for the front. the ones i have now are okay, so should i just not worry about brake stuff for now? what kinda pads are good, and where can i find some cheap slotted 4 lug stock size rotors? where can i get all the stuff for my doors cheap? thanks. is this stuff all okay?

5.0 resto or cjpony parts should have everything to do the door locks, might not be cheap tho.

Ebay has cheap slotted/drilled rotors but im a little weary of them, summit and a couple other places sell powerslot/powerstop rotors but their a little expensive. If you get new rotors a decent set of pads such as hawk will give you a little better breaking.

If you feel like spending a couple minutes per side fabricating, see Jrichker's door lock retrofit article. That said, the kit you're lookin at is the most reasonably priced one I've seen (though still factors more costly than the JR method).

For the switches, testing them and cleaning the contacts can sometimes help. Might save you some cash.

Stuck with door lock actuators that don't work and don't want to pay the $50+ for a new one? Tried the junkyard ones and found that they last six months and freeze up?

A new actuator for less than $5. Fix one side for $18, do both sides for only $25. I don't sell parts, I don’t make any money off of the upgrade, I just tell you how to do it cheaply and easily.

Yes, yes. Follow the above instructions for the door lock actuator fix. Do NOT buy the 50resto actuators, they are the same crappy design as the OEM ones....just crappier.

Using the "universal" ones is the way to go. They are quiet, stronger, and do not rely on the horrible "screw and balls" design as the OEM ones do.

I replaced mine with 50resto actuators, 6 months later the PS one died and I replaced it with the universal one...now I need to do the same with the DS. Those are awesome and worth the extra twenty minutes it will take to install.

I agree. Also doing the jrichker thing....I re-routed the actuators so they are mounted on the inside of the inner door skin. In my mind, they are in a much drier/ safer place. I did mine before I was a member here and before I saw jrichker's fix. Anyway mine have been done for like 4 yrs now.....I even added keyless entry while I was in there.
