Why would you want to go to the trouble of replacing the actuators with a junk set that may be just as screwed up as yours? 50resto.com has them new for a reasonable price. They work great, too. I got new ones from them a year or so ago. No problems at all.

There are other actuators that you can buy and make them fit with some modifying. Someone on here has a method that is awesome. He will probably find this post and link to his site. His method will only cost about $20. I used the Ford actuator when I did mine. It came with a new mount and was easy to install.

I got the 50resto actuators too. I think it was $80 for both w/ the door panel fasteners, works better and quieter than original. I'm sure there are other models that use a similar actuator, usually the difference is the rod that connects to the latch and the actuator to door mount. The 50resto kit came with various rods for different applications and new mounts.

Follow this link to fix your door lock actuator problems http://jrichker.stangnet.com/Mustang_tech/door_actuator_fix/1_of_8_door_actuator.htm

Stuck with door lock actuators that don't work and don't want to pay the $50+ for a new one? Tried the junkyard ones and found that they last six months and freeze up?

A new actuator for less than $4. Fix one side for $17, do both sides for only $23. I don't sell parts, I don’t make any money off of the upgrade, I just tell you how to do it cheaply and easily.

i've done the JR retrofit and love them. his retrofit comes highly recommended from me. i was placing a PE order anyhow, and total cost was under 5 bucks for one side (i had other stuff on hand).

Yes, I too recommend the PE locks. Cost me less than $13 for both doors since I ordered a set with a friend. I just used the parts that came with it and installed it on the door panel face at an angle like this:

The silver screws are where the new lock actuator is mounted. I used one existing hole and drilled the one on the right.

I used spade connectors to attach it to the Ford harness, later wrapped in electrical tape:
