Hi guys,

I'm having a problem with my door locks. They work just fine but the passenger side door lock makes a noise every time I unlock/lock the door. Kinda like an annoying wistle or something, like the actuators needs greasing up or something! Is this a sign of them about to fail?

Try what you said, greasing up the screw shaft. They can get a little rusty because of their location. Pull the actuators, clean them up and lube them.

Do I use regular door grease or electric?

My 91 convertible has been doing that since I got it almost 4 years ago. Most likely the actuator.

Squirt a little WD-40 in the key hole and the back of the lock cylinder (after door panel removal). The arm to the solinoid goes to the lock cylinder that turns and squeeks after a few years. If you don get the back, the cyl wil come apart just like my 95 vert's did.

I have nothing productive to add!

I believe moisture is what really kills these -- all the bad ones I've seen have torn rubber boots. So if it happened after a car wash, I'd say chances are you're right. Not a bad idea to luve the linkage anyway, but I wouldn't get too attached to this actuator.
