Door lock problem!?

hey, i have a '90 GT and the driver side door lock stopped working completely, and the pass. side would only unlock. i took both doors apart and on the driver side the switch wasn't getting any power so i jumped power(just to check) to it and checked it out with a test light and the switch worked, i then checked out the plugs going into the actuators and found that on both sides both the lock and unlock had power but when i plugged the new actuators in the drivers side nothing happened and the pass. side still only unlocked. this has been bugging me for months and final thought of goin online for help bc the dealers don't know anything, hope you can help me. Thanks

they use reverse polarity switching, so make sure the grounds are good - there is one on each door, about dead center on the inner door skin.

there are large wiring connectors at the top of the driver side kick panel - i would check those to see what values you get.

It's the actuators 99% of the time. I just replaced mine on my 90 and the locks work excellent now.

somewhere between the door lock actuator and where the wires go into the body there probably is a broken wire,more than likely it's on the driver side as thats the most used door.this assuming the actuators are good and not locked up.

Unplug the wiring connector to the actuators and use a test light across the two connections. If the light works both ways, then the actuators are bad.
