door molding ?

my molding on the outside of the driver and pass. windows are rusting so i decided to take them off and get replacements, well there like 4 or 5 rivets that make it a slide and lock like deal, can those rivets be bought and where?

That peice bolts on. It is not rivited on.

If you open the door and look up you will see 1 phillips head screw on the end of it.
Take it out and slide the molding back and it will come off.

y ai know theres 1 srew holding it on. then it slides back about 1 inch then come up, but it slide on the rivits im asking about.

I sanded mine down and painted them, and they come out just like he says. The revets shouldn't rust, as they are aluminum. All you do is take that one screw out, pull back, and lift if off. Very easy.

Since you already know how to take the moulding off, and to answer your question, they can be had at any hardware store such as Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.

You should be able to get the round plastic pieces that are riveted to the door from Ford. When I bought new outer belt mouldings thru Ford, the plastic pieces came with the moldings.

where did you buy the replacements from? I sanded down my pass sides cause they were down to the metal then used dupli color. i eventually want new ones for driver and pass side

i tryed 50resto but they dont have the rivet, ill try ford tueday. the inner molding right on the window was rusted all the way through, so theres no saving one. im ordering all 4 new ones throw 50resto.com, along with all new weatherstripping.
