Door Panel Emblems??

Guys, Im thinking of doing a color swap to my 89. It has the mustang emblem on the dash.The grey/black door panels i picked up locally have what appears to be a spot for the same emblem with teo holes in the panels. Where these emblems used on some cars and are they all the same? My factory panels do not, nor did any of the previous cars ive had so wondering what belings there.

That looks like the old v8 symbol

Could be. I think it was way too big. A smaller emblem would look nice. I would like it up level with the handle about mid door.

mabye it was the universal symbol for "bunghole"
