We ended up taking Toonces (our super shy/timid kitty) back to the rescue group because she just wasn't doing well with our other cats (good news is her former foster mom is fostering her again and her other foster right now is a super mellow 15 year old so hopefully they'll get along okay).
Anyway, that brought us back down to 4 cats, but I plan on moving & getting my own place (hopefully) sometime early next year and when I do, I'm taking Romeo with me. I'm worried about him going from having my mom home all day and 3 other cats to play with to being home all by himself while I'm at work so I was wanting to get him a little friend, but dad said "no more cats".
Then this morning Mom & I were leaving Walmart and saw some people giving away kittens. I reminded her that dad said no, and she says "but look at the little spotted one!" So her being the bad influence that she is, we went & looked and fell in love with the little white calico kitten, and took her home hoping my dad wouldn't be furious.
I think he's a little upset that we made the decision w/o him, but he didn't tell us to take her back (we'd gotten the lady's phone number just in case). So now I have little Dot (who, btw, isn't named that because she has spots, she just looks like a Dot). They said she's 11 weeks old, but there's no way. I'm guessing more like 7. She has a minor eye infection, probably worms, and I found & killed 2 fleas (only ones I saw), but otherwise looks pretty good for being a barn kitten. She is being isolated, though, until we can get her to the vet for a good looking over on Friday.
Her spots (and I love the white tips on her ears).
And Emily, Ghost, Romeo, & Rusty are all doing well.

he was a 6 yr old black male, we called him " bar cat" cause he was always getting into brawls, his face was full of scars and his left ear was folded over. he darted under a car and that was it.... he will always be remembered
EDIT: Almost forgot to mention "Kura", Matt's cat; which we inherited when NoKitten went off to boot camp. She's very shy; but playful. Has the teensiest tiniest "mew" of any cat; and will play with somebody she knows; when she feels like it. Otherwise she hides under Matt's bed 'til he goes to sleep; then spends the night attacking his toes under the covers.
); although Latigo will be moving in with Tink shortly after she transfers to Ft Bragg. (I'm not sure SVTCobra306 knows that he's about to inherit a dog!
