I just bought the BF goodrich 315/35/r17 for my GT. what should I Lower the tire pressure to maximize my traction at the track?

I use about 20 psi

Well that depends on whether or not you'd like to snap your axle(s) . . . that's an AWFUL big tire that has ZERO sidewall deflection for the stock rear end. I snapped mine with 275/40/17 DRs . . .

Yea a 15 inch DR would have more sidewall and would probably not be as hard on the drivetrain, buy some 15 inch rims with some DOT slicks.Thats what I am going to do the next time at the track.I was thinking about a 4K-4200RPM launch to save the axles and spider gears, what were you planning on coming out at BBUESCHEL? If you come out at around 3500 you should be fine, most of these guys on here do axle twisting 5K dropps when they use DRs and especially slicks.I dont blame the axles for letting go LOL, but if you keep it conservative you should be fine.

20 sounds a bit high i would go high teens like 17-19psi.

I have also heard that when I am driving on the street I should use about 25psi to prevent the center from wearing uneaven? Is that correct?
