Well guys, I went to the drag strip for the first time in my life last night. I have been dying to go since I installed the KB 1.7 (intercooled) in October. Below are the results. Please analize my times. I got 6 runs in over a 1 hour 15 minute period.

First let me give you some background info...

--Temp: 90 degrees (high humidity) heat index over 100 degrees
--Drove 30 minutes from my house to the track
--Full tank of gas
--no spare tire
--Nitto Drag Radials at 32 psi (since this was my first time at the track, I wanted to just get a feel for it and not lower my tire pressure)
--Did not do a burn out. Went through the water box and spun the tires for a few seconds to clean off.
--Launched at idle all 6 runs
--very little cool down between runs (hood not open)

1st run
R/T: 1.214
60ft: 2.085
1/8: 8.8
MPH: 82.9

2nd run
R/T: .791
60ft: 2.090
1/8: 8.7
MPH: 84.72

3rd run (spun all of first gear)
R/T: 1.054
60ft: 2.167
1/8: 8.8
MPH: 84.69

4th run (spun all of first gear)
R/T: .816
60ft: 2.213
1/8: 8.9
MPH: 84.52

5th run (**Best Run**)
R/T: .913
60ft: 1.948
1/8: 8.5
MPH: 85.20

6th run
R/T: .878
60ft: 1.983
1/8: 8.6
MPH: 84.76

For my first time out I don't think I did too bad. I would really like to practice some more and get my times down. I had so much fun racing though. This can definately be addicting. I met some really nice people that were more than happy to give some pointers to the "new guy". I would like to go to a 1/4 mile track sometime soon. The 1/8 mile was over before I had a chance to even blink.

FYI...my car is making 411rwhp/423rwtq.

Looks fair to me. The more you do it the better you'll get. I'm like you don't worry too much about RT I'm more intersented in my et, 60' and MPH. Your 60's are way better than mine from last time then again I go at full street weight (I like to know what I'll run on the street) on my street tires. You also have many HP on me.

Hey I just read your Sig man you got like everything I want... you sux i want your stuff. j/k

Nice, but trap speed seem pretty low for 411RWHP. I ran a 8.69 @ 80.8x before cams, jlt, and 75mm TB...with the #s and A/F listed in sig. Shift that thing at 5500-5800, powershift 3rd and 4th. BTW i didnt powershift.

Ok I must sux I ran a 8.69 at 85 last night with a 100 shot. and hot ran it with bolt-ons and gears. ughghghhh.

but the weather i'm sure didn't play any part in it ;) both of you have alot left in your cars, you all just need some good weather, some sticky tires, & a lil more seat time possibly & you'll could be seeing consistant 7 second slips

your car's trap speed seems low for sure. last year with 413rwhp from my procharger on the stock goodyears my car ran:

8.55@89mph
8.42@90mph

keep in mind that this was with alot of gas feathering to try to keep some kind of traction.

my best 60ft was a 2.06 on the Goodyears.

I can't wait to hit the track this year. got 315BFG's under her now, a built rear, and will have a new AFM Hi Rev clutch in her this Saturday along with aluminum flywheel. I am hoping for a very low 12 or high 11 @117-118mph if all goes well at full weight.

I went to the track the other night for the first time also. It was 1/4 mile and i ran 14.2 and 14.0 9.2 and 9.0 in the 1/8. Then i found out that my brake caliper was sticking lol. I think my car could easily run 8.90's. I have s****y tires and i plan on getting some nittos. So i think my car will run pretty good on juts bolt on's.

Congrats man, going down the track is fun, isn't it ?

There's definitely LOTS of room for improvement though. To give you an idea, I went [email protected] mph (1.97 60') on narrow 16" street tires. Mods include shifter, mufflers and weight reduction.

i am not sure but for that hp the eimeslip should be better. These cars are heavy. At our track a buddy has a 89 gt 3200lbs with vortec 10 psi. he has all the suspension mods. lakewood lifters, drag springs, 70/30 shocks, M&H cheaters 275 wide, 4.11's and he runs 7.50's. He is making about the same hp 425. i am not saying your time is bad, just you can get more. a naturally aspirated 1985 gt is running 7.92@92. he is much lighter than we are.

I thought it would be better to shift right before rev-limiter..i am a new to all this stuff. I dont have a SC so maybe going past red-line is a big no-no for those supercharged ones..
