Spherical bearings are horrible on the street, they ride like crap and they wear out quick.

I run steeda lightweight lowers and motorsport uppers and i've never felt unsafe.
You can also get some MM lowers or there are a couple of other good companies too.

No, there not horrible on the street, they make a little noise, but far from riding like crap, and ive been running them for about 5 years without any "wear"

Those motorsport uppers are pretty useless to even the occasional drag racer. you are stuck with whatever the pinion angle is, and those Steeda lowers are nice from a novelty standpoint, but the average person that puts those in and dosent set the car up properly with them will end up with preload in the rear suspension, which can be dangerous at the dragstrip.

Drag suspension is always mushy and even worse with low air pressure on really soft tires. Install the sway bar put some air in the tires (should help a great deal). After this he's pretty much stuck, he's got a drag suspension, it's suppose to be like this.

How they feel on the street could be subjective, but IMO they felt harsh and noisy. Unless you goto a torque arm or almost all heim or spherical joints there is always going to be some preload.

The OP suggests the car will spend most of it's life on the street, which sometimes means all of it's life on the street.
Can you run a drag suspension on the street? Yea, i tried it, it sucked, i had to be 10 times more careful than i did with a handling suspension.
Vibrant is right, it's a soft sloppy mess especially without a sway bar.
I'm sure some people can tolerate it, i just don't see why anyone would want to.
There are no plus's to doing it.

You suggest above that no say bar is ok if you don't drive like an ass.
What exactly are you doing on the street with a drag suspension if you aren't going to drive like an ass?

Me personally i think any powerful car run on the street should have a well rounded suspension. Unpredictable things happen on the street and i think a car should be best suited to handle all situations, not just ones that involve a straight line.

So what you are saying is they ride as good as urethane bushings, are as quiet as bushings and last as long?
Come on, nobody's going to believe that, and rightfully so.

You are 100% wrong. Solid bushings last longer. I ripped a set of urethane bushings in half with two summers(with 6 passes) of driving with a HCI car on drag radials! Ive been using the solid bushings for years, and no problems.

If you said that solid bushings will tear up your torque boxes when not properly strengthened, then i would agree with you, but they will last longer than any bushing on a car with anything more than 12 second power and a sticky tire.

What kind of question is that?

I drive the car... ALOT. I dont dive bomb the car into corners, but i can still take off and on ramps at a respectable 35-50 mph, It dosen't float around on the highway, goes nice and straight. I also dont go around driving like a dumbass in traffic. I cruise in the car, and rip on it when i think the time and place is right.

So if you dont push the car past its limits it is perfectly fine on the street. If you want to take corners on public roads at 50+ mph and do 75+ on off ramps, then my car isnt for you. I'd consider that driving like an ass, which i did regularly when i owned a WRX.

You cant say the car is total junk with drag suspension. Maybe you did it wrong when you had it on your car. I did it right on mine. It took some tweaking, but it drives better than stock WITH a swaybar on the front.
