New to the forum. I am working on a 1962 Falcon wagon with a Mustang ll front end. I know it’s not a Mustang close cousin. I am having an issue with the starter dragging on a 1983 T5 bolted to a 1987 302. Flywheel and balancer are 50oz. Clutch is a 10 1/2. Once the motor is running no issue. Only when starting. Any help would be amazing. I do have a 67 Mustang. Thanks in advance..

Start by doing a voltage drop test on the starter wires, battery cables and have the starter load tested, make sure you cables are clean and tight.
