draining radiator

wheres the bolt to drain my coolant from my radiator

ive looked at the bottom of the radiator buy i dont SEE ANY drain bolt

need help asap!!!!!!!!!

ive read it on the pass side, well its NOT, ive also read follow the bottom radiator tube and its supposed to be on the pass side, WELL MY LOWER RADIATOR HOSE IS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE!!!!!!! i dont see ANY drain bolt, can i just undo the top radiator hose and let it come out that way?????

ive just looked again to make sure i dont sound like an idiot, but theres no wing nut or any type of bolt on the passenger OR drivers side, I dont know if its a stock radiator or not??? whats going on, shi* im about to just take it to jiffy lube!!! i would rather do it myself buy i just dont get where the drain plug is!!????????? theres only 2 screws on the bottom of my radiator one on each side, but there nothing to unblot, its just the tip of the screw and all i see is threads???? its coming from the inside of the radiator out, anyway im lost, any help would be appreciated!!!!!! thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok those screws i was talking about are just the bottom radiator mounts.......IM LOST????????????????

I just pull the bottom rad hose off when draining my rad.

Can you post a picture of you radiator?

The stock radiator has that wingnut on the passenger side about halfway down the radiator and you just loosen it up and it will start draining the more you loosen it up...

I know with my Griffin Radiator I don't have a drain plug so I just undo the bottom radiator hose and it all comes pouring out...

I just use a shop vac and suck it out...a lot less messy!

My radiator has the drain, but I still just pull the bottom hose loose to drain it.

huh?

even with the removal of the petcock, i like to drop the lower hose - much quicker and easier draining while flushing (if you let the petcock be the sole drain, you will be flushing all day long).

Those 2 screws should be the automatic tranny cooler lines. and whether if u have a petcock or not just use lower radiator hose, its easier, faster, and gets more of the coolant out. The upper radiator hose would barely do anythin

I just attatch a long thin hose to the wet/dry shop vac, feed it to the bottom of the rad and suck the a/f out...no mess.

wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got the thermo housing off using a 1/4" socket and small ratchet and didnt have to move the dizzy at all....and put a new thermo and now that im trying to put the damn thing back in I cant get the bottom bolt back in!!!! WTF!!!!!

Just use a combination of swivels and extensions to help with that lower bolt...it is a bit of a pain to get to...

as 5sp said, they can be a bit of a pain to get back in. i like to use those ratcheting box end wrenches. an allen head bolt would be much easier to install.
