I have a 66 coupe and i need to remove the drip rail moldings to do some minor rust repair behind them. how do i get them off? ive looked them all over and cant figure out a way to remove them without causing any damage.

ive also been looking at some other mustangs and it looks like they've removed theirs completely? is that a good idea? what kind of problems would that cause me?

I used the old style bottle opener. I wasn't worried about dinging mine since i was planning on new ones, but you could put a rag under the opener if yours are in good shape. Just clip the opener on the underside and lift, just like taking a bottle cap off.
