I work at the local Toyota here, all the gas pedal fix is is a shim that is inserted into the gas pedal. It takes like 10 minutes to fix lol

i was reading a car and driver mag. it had an article that i believe was on toyota and their fixes for the cars, said that most of the bugs were coming from computer glitches. the article went on to say that they were developing a program that basicaly drove the car for you... with all these computer glitches who's ready for that one? the car that sees for you and DRIVES for you.

craziest story is of the guy who a couple years ago t boned and killed a family of 4 and there were no signs of him slowing, he kept saying his gas pedal got stuck in his toyota, he did 3 years in jail, then when these recals came out they let him out right away

I'm sure he will have a lawsuit against Toyoyo here shortly. I would. But then again, I'd NEVER own a POS Toyoyo

Toyota's have boring styling anyway. They all seem "soft" and "cuddly" like a cartoon car.

Toyota doesn't have an aggressive line at all on it's cars...even the Supra was rounded and "cute"

I still don't understand why people can't put the car in neutral, turn of the ignition, push the e-brake or worse slam it into reverse or park to stop a collision. Granted a lot of them there isn't time, but c'mon cruising down the highway - you can't stop the car? what are they terminator toyotas bent on the destruction of mankind????

Because they just don't know.

My sister has a Lexus. I asked her what would you do if your gas pedal sticks and you can't stop?? She didn't have a clue.

I actually had to take her out in the car and show her how to shift up to Nuetral.

When people panic they cannot think clearly. Its easy to say oh just put it in neutral or shut the car off. But untill you are in that situation you cannot say what would happen.

That's the problem...but not everyone is a car nut like most of the people here. It's easy for us to just sit the comfortably and slap it into neutral....whereas someone who doesn't know how to work the car wouldn't know the first thing to do.
