exactly. my wife doesn't know the difference between the transmission and the glovebox but she knows what to do in a case like that. It has nothing to do with being car savvy. It should be part of mandatory testing IMO.

I agree, panic situations make all common sense go out the window and people lose their minds. But what I'am commenting on is some of the stories where people are cruising down the highway and they freak out and don't know what to do other than go for a ride.
