Hello all!
I searched the forums and came up with some seat track advice but the results were all for the 4.6L (Search results).

I'm 6'6" and thinking of trying to squeeze into a GT. Are there any tall drivers out there? I would love to find out if I'm in for a big disappointment before I take the trip to a dealer. I'm not interested in a rag top. I also want to stay as close to OEM for the seats.

Does anyone specialize in adjusting pedals/seat/steering for drivers?

Thanks for the great forum.

Thxs

I think a lot depends on where you carry your height. I am 6'4" tall with a 34" inseam. My shins rub ever so slightly against the bottom of the dash and my right knee is up against the side of the console. Of course - I have the seat adjusted all the way rearward and down.

I plan on relocating the seat about 1" rearward. Not sure how I am going to do it yet, but I've got a shop full of fabrication tools and equipment - I'll find a way... :D

Blackrod - you have about 3" and 40# on me. It's odd that you fit in your GT better than I do in mine... Is your car a manual or automatic? Premium (Power seat) ??

I'm wondering if it's possible that our seats were mounted differently or if the limit switch for rear-ward travel on my seat is misadjusted..

It's not a GT, but my 6'3" frame (36 inseam) fits nicely into my V6 Premium. I've got the seat all the way back, the back half all the way into the floor, and my knees are well clear of the dash and center column. If it were a manual, I'd want the seat a little farther forward so my hand rested on the gear shift instead of behind it, but other than that, it's just fine for tall drivers.

There was someone on here a while back who's wife felt like she sat too low in the passenger seat. It was then discovered that the manual seat tracks were mounted lower than the power adjustable seats. I'm thinking a swap out of the mounting hardware , or purchasing a second manual seat mount/bracket might give more clearance. I'm also hoping the aftermarket added length seat tracks are made for the '05 & up, like they were for the last generation. At 6'3" 300lb, it's a tighter fit than I'd like, but not tigh enough to keep me from getting in line for a new Shelby...

I'm 6' 2" and I have to scoot the seat up just a little bit from the fully back position to fit comfortabley. The headroom is a million times better than the older mustangs were. My only complaint is that the steering wheel isn't telescopic. I still feel like I'm reaching for the steering wheel and the shifter. Maybe my arms are just too short?
