Quick question........Last weekend some wonderful person decided to try and break into my car. They shoved a screw driver in and hammered away. The lock cylinder is basically destroyed. Now here his the problem and question. My insurance deductible is $500.00 and the insurance wants to basically repaint the entire back half of the car. The scratch in question is about the size of a pea and will be covered by the silver trim of the lock. Also, I will have to get my finance company involved. The lock from ford is $78 plus I already have the touch-up paint. So my question is..... If I replace the lock will the fact that the keys don't match effect the operation of the car (the alarm.) I will eventually have to get the lock re-keyed but for now will it work. Oh and its a 2004 Screaming Yellow GT.
