driveshaft lengths??

alright i have a 4cyl coupe and im putting a 351w and a toploader4spd in it... i am putting the tranny in now and the tranny mounts are like 1/2" too long to bolt into the crossmember....will i need to cut the dshaft or just position the tranny better? has anyone done this? or know if the 4cyl dshaft is the same as the 302??thanks
