drivetrain clunk

Im getting clunking coming from inside the rear.The backlash is like.010,it seems to be from the side gears.Is it normal to have slop from inside the rotating assy?do the center pins wear down?

did u have gears put in? how long ago? was they put in right?

I installed em,as I said the lash is .010,but like I said it seems to be coming from the spyder gears,is this just that inherent clunk that all stangs supposedly have?cause my 87 that I had years ago had it as well,I allways thought it was the center pin wearing down.

I think they all have it.. Even my race prepped spooled rearend will make some noise once and a while if I take off real easy.

The only "clunk" I have ever heard from my 87' GT was when the UV joints needed to be replaced, which I did and the clunk never came back.
