I forgot to turn the traction control off on my car and I revved to about 4 grand and accelerated and pulled pretty high into the rpms in 2nd gear. I stopped and realized that I had the traction control active and my car smelled bad and not sure what caused it? Maybe the breaks being burnt up or maybe something else? Thanks for any inputs!

It didn't smell like exhaust and after the car was parked in the garage it still smelt for 30 minutes?

I'm thinking clutch or brakes. I don't see how the TC would cause a smell I'd say the smell probably won't come back....well....unless you do the exact same thing again.

Brake Pads and Timing being pulled is how TC works so you are probably smelling the exhaust and brake pads.

This is what I was leaning towards. Either a hot clutch from hammering on it or overworked brakes, either of which whould smell about the same...
