Anyone else have a specific pair of shoes that they can pretty much only drive stick with? I have a pair of vans that I learned to drive stick on my car with and if I wear any other pair of shoes, its almost like learning to drive again. The gas pedal feels so different and its hard to get it to act the same as my vans.

I have some shoes with lugs on the bottom of them. They catch on my billet gas pedal "nubs" so when I go to let off the throttle it'll take it 1/2 second longer to slow down because the lugs catch on the nubs :)

i can drive with any shoes except for Dr Martens. For some reason they are so big and bulky (probably also due to my giant clown feet,LOL) but they get stuck under the brake pedal when disengaging the clutch every once in a while.

mmm.... dosen't really matter to me i started bare foot and drove without shoes for prob the first 6 months till it finally got cold enough to wear shoes and then i wore my circas and it was a little weird at first for prob the first couple lights, but then i caught back on and now i can do it either way :D..... way more dangerous to drive in sandals, because if they get stuck and you need to put the brakes on hard then your sol and if i'm going to wreck i've prob got so much adrenaline that i'm not gonna feel the "sharp" thing on my brake pedal hit my foot.... well that and i play soccer so my feet really don't have any feeling and really thick calasis .... i think that's how u spell it who knows...... what happens when u go to get in your car and trip and hit your head and die?? there's alot of what ifs

Nope, i can drive in anything, even big heavy construction boots.

I tried barefoot and it was tough! For some reason having that 1/2" or so of rubber under my sole changes the postion of my leg as i slip the clutch, so i always end up releasing too much

I can drive in pretty much any shoe and i do have quite a few...plus i've only driven 5-speeds so i've gotten used to any shoes.

if they're flip-flops or shoes that i just slip on with no socks, i have to take the left one off to do the clutch. Plus it's a habit anyway when i have flip-flops on, second i get in the car i take the left one off instantly.

Sucks when the flip-flop bends back on the carpet when you're letting off the clutch! did that once many years ago and never wore one on my left foot again. Gas/brake I always have a shoe on...

I try not to drive in heels...i'll wear flip-flops and bring the heels. :)

I've gone to the track with flip-flops before but i try to have normal shoes on.
