Im looking at DSS web site at their complete long block assemblies...Just curious as to what the differences are between their:

Bullet
Pro Bullet and
Super Pro Bullet.


Any info would be appreciated.

I got the 306 pro bullit shortblock. pics here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/642232/6 and the next page.

The parts looked good, the price was good too. I realy dont buy all the "soo strong,600hp, strongest production block" stuff but I like the product. They always seem to have a "special" on the pistons with the free upgrade (I got that too btw).

If I was to do a stroker or boosted motor, I would look into the XR or whatever that has the dart blocks. They seem to be a good deal with all the mech. work and assem. done. I was thinking of getting the parts needed to build a motor (went the whole gambit on shortblocks) and after I added it up and sat down with what I wanted and needed the DSS was a good deal. CHP also seems to be a comparable company, on hardcore the owner or whatever gives some good info.

When I ordered they only had the bullit and the pro bullit. The pro bullit got the better pistons/rods (or you could upgrade to the better forged pistons for free).

Why CHP over DSS? There is actually more than just one decent engine building company out there Seems like a toss to me.

I'm not sure why you ask, RC, the website has all the info on what the differences are. It would be unfavorable for them to not advertise any differences so I don't think they would leave anything out, you know what I mean. Still, I say call them and talk to someone. AT least that will get you a good idea of what kind of customer service they have.

All I could find is a price comparison, and a description of the bullet, but NOT a listing of the differences with the more expensive ones.

The differance between a bullet and pro bullet is.....the pro bullet had a stud girdle for someone looking to boost or nos the motor. The super had improved oiling and etc. (dont remember all of it)

Just call them. They asked me the first question on the phone, "how fast do you want to go." I said high 11s and they helped me out. The only regret I got is the low tension rings I have in my motor. They suck. That is another story. Anyhoo.

I havent seen you around here before...thanks for the info...Just outta curiousity, why did you do a 306 vs a 331? I guess If Im keeping the blower, then I would need the Pro Bullet, IF I looked into one of their engines...Im sure there are some other quality differences in the internals, I just wanted to try to find them on their website.

I was very pleased with the customer service I received from them when I ordered my rotating assembly. Somewhere along the shipping journey the pistons, rods, rings, balancer all came up missing via UPS. Called up DSS and they got with UPS and got everything resolved and I had replacement parts within 2 weeks since they had to re-balance everything. Also sent me an extra set of bearings.

If I remeber correctly I think this is the major differences in them:

Bullet: Nodular crank/pro pistons.
Pro Bullet: Nodular crank/ Pro-lite Pistons
Sup. Pro Bullet: Forged crank/h-beams/Pro-lites

Like i said I don't really remember the exact difference's.
