ok, im gonna try to tap into this wealth of knowledge you all have!
i have a 92 lx coupe was a duel plug 2.3,5speed car. i got it for $300 as a roller. no motor or trans comp or (engine or dash)harness. Now i have the stuff to go with either motor. i know the duel plug had more power factory and the benefit of being a mass air motor, but it has been my observation that the single plug head is alot stronger, i have seen 2 cracked heads on the duel and none on the single. now after all that here is my point!
would i be better off putting a duel back in the car or would my 1989single plug motor with roller cam out of a 93 ported intake and no a/c be better?
ive been playing around with this little motor out of lack of cash, and for fun, but wonder if i am waisting my time becouse of it not being mass air. i am eventualy going turbo, but thats along way off. this little 2.3 will just be a go to work car for now, atleast untill i build my 2.3t vert
im building the car as cheep as i can for now.
thanks for your time, and input.
matt
here is the car in question

I would just stick another dual plug in unless you think the motor you have is bad. It would take some major wiring work to get the single plug motor working in the dual plug car. Besides, I think the mass air motor will respond better to mods and starts with noticibly more power.

No cracked head on a single?????? Send it my way then, both of mine are cracked and I have never seen a non cracked single head.

I would use the DP head on the car for now and then go to the JY to get a block and everything to build up a different motor so you can swap that one in. Oh wait that is what I am doing right now.
