So what exactly does the nomenclature "SN" mean in 'SN95'??


What are the 05+ cars called?

I'd like to know this as well. I know its just the technical name for 94-98 mustangs. For instance, 95-99 maximas were code named VQ30DE's.

When I was a big newbie, I used to think it stood for "stang net '95"....don't ask me why.

it's the corporate ford code name...nothing more nothing less

VQ is just an engine code. Just like the 2JZ, honda B, D and K series motors, etc.

Its a number code for a certain bodystyle and year of a model of car. SN95 is associated with the 95-98 mustangs. I work at the KC Assembly plant and work on the Escape side and those are are called U205's

Yes, the 99-04s are also considered belonging to the SN95 group.

Some abbreviations associated with mustangs include: II, fox or fox-body, fox 4, SN95, New Edge, DEW or DEW98, etc

SN95 is a Ford "Chassis" designation (duh). Ford uses these when refering to the cars in an engineering sense instead of calling them "Mustang, Fourth Gen."

Sportscar North America 95

Same thing for the Cougars and T-birds MN12's.

Midsize North America 12
