Dumb to buy Smart?

I'm surprised how no one has mentioned how they require premium gasoline.

So does my dad's FX35. He's put 87 in it from day 1 and never had any knocking or pinging. I think it's a crock of **** about cars requiring premium unless they have FI or crazy high compression.

Smart car and the company is still a piece of **** in my mind though. I hope they fall off the train on the way to the dealerships.

I like the videos of the smart car with the Hyabusa engine. Now we are talking "usefulness" it probably gets the same gas milage too lol...and it moves like a bat out of hell. Like an RC car you can ride in.

I think I'll buy 2 and take up roller skating.

Nope, not a crock. My Aurora required the good stuff. It would throw codes like crazy and run like crap without at least 91 octane.

We see them all the time here in Orange County, California, headquarters for the more money than brains club.
But I wouldn't buy one for the simple Physics. Here is a video of an average size SUV colliding with a Fiat 500, which is bigger than a Smart. All the dummy occupants (even in the back seat) of the Fiat had serious and fatal injuries, and none in the SUV.

Notice how the lighter vehicle is decelerated, and then accelerated backwards.
No thanks, I'll stick with my slightly overwieght Mustang...
