well i just did mine i bought a smog pump bypass pully it was like 65 dollars and that way u can use same size belt and not loose the angle of belt tension on all the pulleys!
How much 'angle of tension' do you need? If you skip the smog pulley, you increase the belt coverage on the alternator and the coverage on the water pump remains the same. The amount of belt on the pulley doesn't usually become a big concern until you start wrapping it around a SC pulley. Here's a handy picture: Well...it would be a handy picture if it would let me upload it. I'm using 20k with one other attachment and it's telling me that this 15.7k picture is too big
ok, but i guess it really doesent matter, about the underdrives, it should be the same in the end, cause they come with a smaller crank pully, larger waterpump, and larger alt. pully, all of which are being used so it should be the same size as a stock short belt,,,, in therory right?
