This came in the mail yesterday.

The quality of this thing is pretty nice.

I'm feeling lazy as hell today so I don't know how much progress I'll make.

The Holley gasket is in my possession along with the valve cover gaskets and the u joint.

Seems like this stuff never ends...

Still need to move my PS lines and bolt on the brackets for the front bumper.

Getting everything swapped in has been the easy part....

I'm over here just ticking along....every little bit counts. Can't wait for this car to be done. At this rate I'll be driving it summer of 2020. Lol

So much for being lazy...

I was getting a tick from under the passenger side valve cover once the car started warming up. Checked the rockers and the number 2 cylinder exhaust rocker is a tad loose. So... rocker adjustments are in the process....

The TW heads are a little narrow on the top edge. The previous gaskets were barely touching that area. Seeing as though, the only sealing part of them is the o ringed inner edge, I understand why they leaked.

Everything went well today..

The car runs great with no valve cover leaks and no ticking.

This is how I left it for the night...

In order to pull up on stands I have to pull the nose off. Cleaned up the oil residue and pulled the steering shaft.

Wish I had pics of grinding the rivets off and the pressed rectangle at the end of the shaft. It was really easy to get everything off. The coupler and shaft are both on their way to get machined. Its good to know people sometimes.

Here's my machined shaft. They did an awesome job and they didn't shorten it so I should get a little space back at the collapsible sleeve.

TThanks to mustang folks I only have a little over 30 bucks in this shaft. They said if I get the parts they'd make a brand new shaft....easy peasy

When I pull everything to detail, smooth, and paint everything I may take them up on that offer....if they're still around in 10yrs. Lol

Its installed...kinda hard to get a pic.

I put lock nuts on the studs and blue locktite on the threads.

Can't wait to drive this thing on the road.

When the cars not running you could feel the rag joint flex turning the wheels. I can tell you that now there is no flex at all. Feels way more precise.

This oil breather is way nicer than I thought. Everything is o ringed

The filter is a really fine metal screen...thought it was cheap paper but it's not...

And its baffled internally...

Now I just need fittings...

Lowes doesn't have o ring fittings... However, they do have tubing fittings that are the same thread...5/8 male tubing fitting to 1/2 inch MIP adapters....then 1/2 inch female MIP to hose barb adapters. The male tubing fitting screws into the threads perfect and the flare ( which is different than AN fittings ) doesn't matter...the holes are straight through...

Only one little problem...

Lowes has a spot for 1/2 inch female MIP to hose barb on the shelf...but no fittings. None in overstock.

A nylon oil drain plug gasket will fit on a male tube fitting...there's a flat recessed spot after the threads...it can also take an o ring. Checked it out already.

Technically I could put a sleeve inside my 5/8 hose and thread it straight into the breather...but that would be cheating.

Guess I'll try Home depot tomorrow after work.

There is no reason other than running both valve cover breathers to one puke tank. Nothing special at all....other than extremely inexpensive.

Guys I hate drilling holes in a mustang. I will do almost anything to find a way to use a factory hole to mount crap. This is no different.

A little bit if aluminum flat stock and this is what I have.

Real estate is becoming harder and harder to find around this engine bay.
