Although it may sound a bit extreme, heating those rubber bushings up, even to the point of catching on fire, will allow you to remove the bushings in a matter of minutes. Obviously you'll need to avoid doing so in too close of proximity to fuel or brake lines, the fuel tank itself, or any wires. Those babies will slide right out. It works like a champ! I've done it a dozen times.
