(1995 5.0 gt 5 speed)
my mods are in the sig...it was a little wet today which may have affected the numbers slightly but prolly not...My biggest downfall is I was running really rich...at 2500 rpm I was running 12.3 to 1 a/f ratio and at WOT I was running 10.9:1 a/f ratio...so I need to lean it out I am too rich obviously...and timing was also set at 10*...anyway it was a MUSTANG DYNO and here are the numbers:

230 rwhp at approximately 5300 rpm and 266 rwtq at 4000 rpm...

Well what do you guys think?? I wanna try a dynojet cuz I wanna see how much more it says I got..I think that I did pretty darn well for 92,000 miles on a MUSTANG dyno..

Just a question. How come they did'nt adjust your A/F while you were being dynoed? I went to Blood's and they adjusted mine when they dynoed it. I had a Predator with me, but can't a shop do that without a Predator? I'm not a mechanic so I don't know squat fixing or adjusting them.

three reasons...I was in a major hurry to get out of there so we only did 2 pulls and also they woulda charged me more and three because the guy needed to check to see if he had software for my chip...and I couldn't wait for him to figure it out cuz I had errands to do...I went there with plenty of time but this dude in a silverado got in front of me somehow and he had a problem with his traction control not working after a gear install....urggh he took forver to get off the dyno even tho he wasn't using the actual dyno...

Yeah, it would be interesting to see what your mods put down on a Dynojet, and seeing how much of a difference between the two dynoes. I'm curious what my numbers would be on a Dynojet also.

302FordRacer: Was your chip originally a mail order chip? What happened to your a/f is pretty typical of that. What is the timing controlled at on your chip? If you don't have to run premium, then your chip does not advance the initial timing. When you get it reburned, have it advance to 14 degrees. This should net you ten horses at the wheels. Congratulations on the numbers! I hope to go back and dyno my '95 again. My horsepower should be close to 300 at the wheels with stock GT-40p's, TFS cam, and a typhoon upper/lower.
crzyhrse: Your car is ODBII, his '95 is not. As such, one cannot employ a predator device on his car. He will need to reburn his SCT chip in order to adjust the a/f.

The differences and benifits on the dyno's could be argued over and over and you wont get anywhere. What matters is to pick a dyno and stick with it or else you will be comparing apples to oranges. You cant say that something helped or hurt if you bounce back and forth from place to place. We use Torque Freaks exclusively and we know when we go back the next time our old numbers will be there for comparison.

Another bad thing is the profile of the stock timing curve is CRAP. It dips down at-near peak torque, etc.... some of the cheaper chips simply add timing to the global scalar (like bumping the distributor ahead) but what really needs to happen is to have the curve re-worked to a better profile. A good custom burner can do this (chung, etc..) it can make quite a difference in the performance and throtle response. Aftermarket heads also respond best to a curve that is not the same as stock heads (they can take the advance quicker, but dont like as much total) in order to make max power. ....just fyi....

I got my chip from chung and he had to tune it off of the dyno but it is a long story as to why he had to make it soo rich...we simply had spent too much time trying to make the car run and the only way to do it was make it rich for now...I am gonna head back there and get him to reburn it on the dyno..but anyhow I don't wanna go into the details as they are long but suffice it to say chung knows his stuff and he simply had to richen it up at the time to make it work..now there are some more things I have done to the car that may allow fuel and spark to be adjusted properly...I just need to save the funds...I have way overspent this month's car fund lol

I know the temperature will make a difference, but keeping the vehicle 100% stock I went on a mustang dyno and hit 355, and on a dynojet I made 372.. temp difference was 32 degrees for the Mustang and low 60's for the dynojet.. Not sure of the elevation difference though, but the dynojet was I'm guessing 600 ft higher
