yeah the heads help..... I know this from vw racing, but ring seal is the concern with me right now. Heads make the package alright, put a big arse cam in there without em and it'll fall on its face. With 255rwhpalmost 300rwtq low 13s should be no problem at all assuming he can get it hooked up.Rumble said:It's all about the heads. That should easily be a 13-second car.

well the stang is back in the shop something is up with the tranny. just got stuckon the freeway and had it towed up there grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr This car is really starting to piss me off

Well I also decided to see what kind of power I could pull out of a 289. Im not sure on some of the specifics about the short block because I had it machined and assembled by a shop that went under. But heres what I do know:
289 bored 40 over
Comp cam (not sure which model, but equivalent to the one that comes with the Edelbrock Perf. RPM package)
Crane roller rockers
Edelbrock performer RPM heads
Edelbrock air gap intake
Edelbrock 650 carb
Hooker comp headers
MSD Pro Billet Distributor
MSD wires
posi with 3.88 gears
Is all this stuff about equivalent to what youve got? Just looking to see what mine might put down.

Either way I dont think your over cammed. your motor needs ALOT more air if your pulling vacuum at WOT, the heads are asking for more air. I could see you makin upwards of 280+rwhp/310+rwtq, most likely more still.
